Agios Spyridon Church

Poulata Sami

chapel of San Spyridon or the church of the conte

In Poulata Sami, in the northern part of the large family estate, there is a restored chapel of the noble house of Anninos Chorafas. Its form belongs to the type of the Eptanesian basilica of the early XVIIIth century and is a prime example of the Eptanesian baroque. The window frames and the ertes (the frames) on the monumental doors are stone carvings of exceptional art and the building extends to the west with its medieval-style bell tower.

The year 1970 the Greek Ministry of Culture (ΥΠΠΟΑ) declared the chapel and the bell tower a National Preserved Monument.
